Are you getting familiar with TikTok but don’t know how to grow your following? Here are some TikTok Tips and Secrets: How I went from 0-10K Followers in less than 90 days!
TikTok is the biggest thing to hit the digital platform world in 2020. So why are you not on it? I am sure you are being influenced by what “they” say – it’s for kids, it’s just dumb, it’s not going to last, it’s only singing and dancing, it’s not for content creators or digital marketers.
That is ALL wrong!
How do I know? Because my content on divorce and marriage and dating for women ages 40+ is clearly making a very strong impact on TikTok. Yes, it may not be about goofy jokes and dancing, but there is a market for anything and everything on Tik Tok and because no one is on there your content will be seen and liked and shared and you will gain your own Tribe.
Here are some snapshots of my Journey on TikTok from December 19th, 2019 when I posted my first video with zero followers to today, April 5th, 2020 (3.5 months later) with 14.6K Followers!!

I kept posting and posting to see which videos would do well. I posted a video on Dating after Divorce and started to get some traction. As of January 7th, 2020, I was at 75 Followers– whoo hoo!
I kept posting videos and experimenting (and having a lot of fun with it!) and now at January 16th, 2020 I was at 126 Followers – I almost doubled in around 10 days!
This picture also shows you something great that TikTok does – it gave me a tally of my activity (doesn’t seem to do it all the time but every now and then it pops up – on the bottom right). It showed 19 likes, 1 Comment, 2 new Followers and 14 Shares (and here is a bonus tip – the more shares you get the better for your account as TikTok values Shares tremendously – it shows your content is good enough for viewers and followers to want to share it with their friends – good job!)
January 21st, 2020, I posted a video about my experience with my Divorce, of leaving my husband after a 20 years marriage – how it broke me, and how I had to cope with the grief and trauma, and also I mentioned not to date during this difficult time (all in 1 minute no less!).
It struck a chord with the TikTok community! And it was my first video to gain some major followers.
The picture here shows now I am at 316 Followers (doubled again in one week) and that video is at 7182 views.
January 22nd, 2020, just one day later, I am at 513 Followers with 16.3k views on the “I Left my Husband after a 20 year marriage” Video. (PICTURE)
January 23rd, 2020, one day later, at 5:57 pm, I hit 1k Followers!
Bonus tip for TikTok
When you hit 1K followers on TikTok, you can go LIVE to your viewers!
And there is a way for you to get monetized gifts from your viewers when you go Live. TikTok only allows the LIVE feature once you hit 1K Followers.
- January 28th, 2020, I hit 1741 Followers and got my 2nd Video to start gaining traction – a Video about How To Get a Boyfriend After a Divorce or Breakup – 12.6K views!
- February 11th, 2020 I am now at 3300 Followers! And now my videos are getting good 1K views or more!
- March 8th, 2020, I am at 6035 Followers
- March 16th, 2020 I am at 8024 Followers
- March 22nd, 2020 – I HIT 10K FOLLOWERS!!! (disclaimer – it’s 10K followers 93 days and not 90 days ☺)
- And today, on April 6th, 2020, I am at 14.9K followers, 130.7K total likes! So almost two weeks after I hit the 10K followers I am almost up by 50%.

There are a few videos that to date have really made a powerful impact on my profile and have directly resulted in my increase of Follower growth.

Conclusion
This evidence should clearly show you how a Content Creator in the space of divorced women, dating after divorce and women empowerment (age target 40+) can make an impact on TikTok.
Not to mention, how much fun it is. I love how raw and real this platform is. It’s not fake or all about money and cars and excess. It’s about real people, real-life and real stories.
And I am now officially a TikTok Addict!
